Crying during or shortly after swaddling is not a sign that your baby does not like to be swaddled. Babies need to be swaddled, despite their “rebellions”. They leave the confinement of the womb to a world of wide open space, and need time to adjust to the concept of space. Once your baby is over 6 months old, his/her startle should diminish and arms free sleeping can be trialed. Did you ever notice how “busy” your baby’s arms and legs can be at times? Swaddling actually helps them to feel more relaxed, secure and in control of their rigorous involuntary movements. It is BEST to start the Woombie when the baby is first born! This eliminates swaddling confusion. How can my baby get used to the Woombie when he has been using a tight wrap from birth? My baby has a really chunky neck. Can i customize the Woombie neck width? Are there any dangers involved in swaddling? What if my baby rolls on his belly? Rolling is usually a sign that it is time to stop swaddling. Please ask your Pediatrician for advise. Some babies who are rolling however may still need swaddling. Top Pediatricians recommend using “white noise” in the nursery to promote a deeper sleep and lessen the occurrence of rolling. It is important to always position baby per Pediatrician guidelines. BACK SLEEPING is the only recommended sleep position . Tight swaddling can limit upper body mobility when baby is belly down. The Woombie does allow for more freedom of upper body due to its stretchy fabric, hence increasing mobility in the torso area- unlike traditional swaddling where arms are “pinned” to the sides. However, we do not recommend swaddling a rolling baby. If your baby does begin to roll, ask your Pediatrician for advice on whether or not swaddling with the Woombie should be continued. Your Pediatrician will advise you best. How can i wean my baby from swaddling? I have been using a different swaddle, but it seems too tight for the baby. Can i switch to the Woombie, since he is already used to a tight swaddle? Can I use the Woombie when breastfeeding? When is the best time to swaddle? Is the fabric breathable? Can I get the larger size Woombie for my newborn and let her grow into it? Can a baby roll over in the Woombie?# It looks so small! How will my baby fit into it? Here are some tips on swaddling and how to use the Woombie!Tip #1: The best time to swaddle a baby is when he/she is calm…. Waiting until baby is over-tired and already fussy may make him feel worse and unable to “settle”. Tip #2: In the Winter, Put baby into warm PJ’s first and then into the Woombie. An extra light blanket may be used on top of the Woombie if cold… use your judgment while remembering that overheating may be linked to SIDS. In Summertime, just a Onesie or diaper alone is needed. Tip #3: Please give baby a chance to get used to a new swaddling method! If baby has been in a tight restraint swaddle from birth, he/she may be confused by the change! Give baby time to adapt. The Woombie allows for stretch, which is a good thing, and will assist in baby’s important Motor Development! Tip #4: The Woombie may appear smaller than baby, but that is part of the Woombie concept. The stretch fabric does in fact stretch to mold to your baby’s unique physique! Tip #5: Always position baby safely per Pediatrician recommendations to prevent rolling when using all swaddles. Tip #6: If there are a few extra inches at the foot end, you may tie the toe area with a small sash or in a knot to decrease the overall length. Tip #7: If the collar area appears a bit snug, give it a good stretch. It is made of 100% Cotton fibers and can be stretched larger like a Tee shirt can. Also yo9u can unzip the zipper 1 inch which will open the neck area by 1-2 inches. Tip #8: Using white noise in the nursery may help to promote a more peaceful sleep. Using a fan also will recirculate stagnant air. Do not point the fan at the baby, but place it near the crib pointing in the opposite direction. Features of Merino Wool?
Merino wool is the material shorn from Merino sheep. Fabric made from Merino wool is used in the production of high-end clothing. Contrary to popular belief, the wool is neither itchy nor overly hot. It provides some warmth, though one of its renowned elements is its wicking abilities – it draws sweat away from the skin and retains the moisture, though the clothing still feels dry to the touch. Due to its uniquely thin fibers, this type of wool does not retain odors – bacteria cannot find a solid surface to grow on, thus making it anti-microbial, as well. It also is hypoallergenic, as is most wool. Merino wool fabric will shrink when washed or dried, but not much more than would a similar cotton garment. It can easily be stretched back to its original shape. Merino wool can also be blended with other fibers. When combined with the latter fabrics, the ultra-fine wool makes for a smooth and soft garment. Merino wool is all you would want from a fabric that is on the cutting edge. There are so many choices when it comes to fabric for clothing, but the tried and true best is merino wool. It breathes when you need it to and it allows the wearer to move smoothly and comfortably. It can also add natural beauty and comfort to your home in a number of ways. Is Merino Wool A Fabric for People with Allergies? Is Wool Blended with Other Fibers? Wearing Wool almost All Year RoundThe beauty of merino wool apparel is that it can be worn almost all year round . When the weather is warm, there are plenty of lightweight merino wool clothes that will keep you cooler than you ever thought possible. In the cooler months, your merino wool clothing will keep you cool during the day when the sun is warm, and it will keep you equally warm when the sun goes down and there is a nip in the air.
