What Chores Should You Outsource Before Your Summer Baby Arrives?
A summer baby sounds sweet in theory, and of course, it is. You can take them on summer evening walks, you can have a picnic outside, and the newborn photo shoots on picnic blankets are absolutely adorable. Really, it’s great having a baby in the summer. But you should also keep in mind that you still have backyard organization you need to worry about here. So the timing can also make regular household chores feel a lot bigger than they normally would.
It’s hot, everyone’s tired, the baby stuff is slowly taking over the house, and even a simple errand can feel like it needs three bottles of water- well, if it’s hot enough at least. And once the baby arrives, those little jobs and errands are still there, especially when it comes to outside, that hot weather mixed with some rain only means theres more work to be done anyway. So, maybe it’s a good idea to outsource so you can relax with the baby (and this time doesn’t need to be stressful or hectic for you either).
Yard Work Only Gets Worse in the Heat
Summer yard work has no sense of timing. The weeds don’t care that someone is heavily pregnant, recovering, feeding a newborn every few hours, or trying to sleep whenever the baby sleeps. Well, Mother Nature is just Mother Nature, simple as that; you don’t have any control. So, the lawn still needs attention, plants still need watering, and outdoor areas can start looking rough pretty quickly if they’re ignored for a few weeks.
If you live in an HOA, they’re especially strict about this, so you might need to look into someone who can do some basic yard work for you while you take off. Sometimes, at least with HOAs, they can provide someone for you, or you can see if a neighbor will do it for a few extra bucks.
Own a Pool?
Not an Intex pool, but an actual pool, be it above-ground or in-ground. Usually people look forward to swimming in the summer, and when you’re pregnant, well, you know how good it feels to be weightless in the water for a bit. While the pool can be relaxing, you do need to stay on top of it being cleaned.
Well, there’s just a lot of upkeep here that you really can’t skip, like water testing, chemical balancing, filter care, leaves, debris, and equipment checks don’t stop just because there’s a newborn in the house. So, if you haven’t already, you might want to consider booking pool cleaning professionals before the baby arrives.
You Deserve a Deep Cleaning
If you haven’t been in the nesting phase yet during your third trimester (and not everyone gets the urge), then you might want to try to get a deep cleaning for your home as a push present. It’s absolutely worth it; those baseboards are dust-free, no dirt under the appliances- just everything, right down to the nitty-gritty in the home, is perfectly clean, and when you just gave birth to a baby, it’s honestly the best feeling to come back home from the hospital to a sparkling clean home.
